What to Wear to a Sector 29 Night Out

Sector 29 on a Saturday is not a formal room, but it is not casual either. There is a dress code and nobody has written it down, so here it is: one thing doing the work, everything else quiet. A statement back, or a statement trouser. Not both.

The back is the move

You are going to spend the evening at a table with your back to the room. It is the most-seen part of the outfit and the part most people leave plain.

Red Diamond Back — ₹1,299. Demure from the front, considerably less so from the back. Padded through the bust, which is the actual point: there is nothing to wear underneath and nothing to adjust at 1am.

Silver Bead Top — ₹895. White, sleeveless, silver bead pins across it and an open back. Wears well under bad lighting, which most of 29 is.

Corset White — ₹1,299. Structured, pearl and diamanté along the border. Pair with black denim and stop there.

Rebel Set — Blue at ₹4,299 is a strapless army-blue top over balloon trousers, jewellery included. It is one decision instead of four, which on a Saturday evening is worth something.

Two practical things

Heels. The walk from parking to the door is longer than it looks and the pavement is uneven. Block heels, or carry flats.
