Wedding season in Gurugram has a particular rhythm. The invite arrives, you have three functions and nothing that works for any of them, and the week before turns into a scramble between Sadar Bazaar, a mall you did not want to visit, and a tailor who needs five days you do not have.

What a guest outfit should cost

For a function where you are a guest rather than family, ₹2,500–7,000 is the honest range in this city. Below that you are usually buying something that photographs badly. Above it, you are paying for a label, which is fine, but it is not the same as paying for fabric.

What matters more than the number: is it stitched, and does it fit? An unstitched set at ₹1,800 plus ₹1,200 of tailoring plus a week of waiting is not cheaper than a stitched one at ₹3,000.

Three that work, and why

Blue Grace Satin Suit — ₹2,999, a three-piece: kurti, farshi palazzo and dupatta, all fully stitched in satin rayon with embroidery and a GPU lace border. This is the one we have sold most of, and the reason is boring and good: it needs nothing doing to it. Six left.

Green Leaf — ₹6,999. Banarasi gold-on-colour brocade, the weave that used to be a sari, cut into a co-ord you can sit down in. If you want the function photos to look like you made an effort without wearing something you will never touch again, this is it.

Bairan Blue — ₹4,999. Hand-print top, flowing printed trousers, and the jewellery comes with it: rings, gold earrings, a heart pendant. Better for a mehendi or a sangeet than a reception.

The alteration problem, solved differently

Most of the time the outfit is close but not right — the length, the waist, the sleeve. So there is a measurements box at checkout. Fill it in and we adjust before it ships, at no extra charge. It is not a premium service, it is just what should happen.

One honest caveat

We hold one or two pieces per size. That is deliberate — nobody else turns up in your outfit — but it does mean that if you wait, your size may be gone, and there is no restock. If you are shopping for a date you already know, shop earlier than feels necessary.
